the radiohead show last night was totally impressive, both visually and musically... as far as a band that has transformed and evolved into many different beasts through the years (let alone stay together as a unit), no other major band comes close to them really... the embracing of technology and the power of the individuals as musicians combined is something to see indeed... thom yorke is one of the worlds greatest frontmen... as he was soaking it up last night, his one-of-a-kind voice soaring to the heavens, he reminded me of a crazed freddie mercury, completely comfortable in his role as the centre of the bands universe... even with the visual extravaganza of all the lights and video screens, you can't take your eyes off him... f@#kin' amazing... was i disappointed about the fact they didn't play more songs from "the past"??? hell yeah... those songs got me through all sorts twenty-something angst... seeing them back in the 90's at wembley arena, and them playing lurgee off pablo honey, a song i was totally into at that time, it was like they were playing it just for me... exit music for a film both tore me to shreds and made me happy to be alive all at the same time... so the lack of revisiting the back catalogue was slightly disappointing for this old geezer i gotta be honest... but hey, they are radiohead... they have earned the right to do whatever the fuck they want, and last night, that's exactly what they did... in style...
some totally awesome photos from the show
